A lot of times things don’t really hit me, as in I don’t really notice something’s happened, until there’s a striking visual difference in my environment. Take moving, for instance. Over a month ago, we moved to Vermont. It wasn’t until today, when we got our license plates, that it really hit me, that wow, we moved. It’s amazing how seeing another state’s plates on your car so completely changes how you view your car. Your license plate is an unmoving, non-changing, splash of color, part of your car’s personality and being. So, to go from a bland plate like Massachusetts’ to the BRIGHT GREEN of Vermont’s is a striking visual that stops me every time I see it.
What was also striking was me hitting the rusted-in-place bolts holding my old plates to the car with a wrench. It took way much longer than any reasonable person should spend trying to unscrew a few rusty bolts.
I’ve noticed that my “magic mouse” loses it’s magicnicity when the cat uses it as a pillow. At least she’s not sitting on the keyboard. That makes it not type so well.
What else is new? Lots! For some reason, I thought I wrote and posted a bunch of posts to my site, but then tonight discovered that I didn’t…so you can look forward to lots of posts about doing fun things like going on the Ben & Jerry’s factory tour and seeing Iron Maiden in concert.
Time to get some sleep amid the gentle popping of explosions everywhere as the village merrymakers launch fireworks in the sky all night (again).
