To have, to hold, and to read

It’s here! The print edition of Emily Dickinson, Superhero – Vol. 1!

Well, this is actually the proof. I checked it over and it looks awesome, so I approved it. They gave me the following timetable for its availability before it can be ordered via the following outlets:
Amazon (US and Europe): five to seven business days.
Expanded distribution channels (special orders through any bookstore): six to eight weeks.
The finished product comes in at 422 pages. It’s interesting how different the length of the book is between the different formats. It’s 153,000 words and was 332 pages in my original Word document. When I converted it to the Kindle format, the same number of words came in at 501 pages. The same thing happened when I edited it for the print edition, which is 6″ x 9″ compared to the original Word document at 8.5″ x 11″. Then I discovered that the cost of the book rises dramatically when there’s more pages involved. By changing the font size and tinkering with the margins I was able to shrink it down to the current 422 pages.
So yeah, it looks awesome. A bunch of people have asked when the print edition will be ready. Soon! I will let you know on here as soon as it appears on Amazon.
Here’s a picture of it in my bookcase amongst all of my other Emily Dickinson books:
