Take that, deadline!
Zoe, lying on the kitchen table with her brush. Why? No dogs up there.
Tonight I finished the detailed outline for 2497, the final book in my sci-fi series (beating my deadline by a full week). Planning all of this out has been a hugely important thing for me. While I was trying to work on Winters in Boston, I found it difficult to focus on a story set in a contemporary setting while ideas were still popping into my head for the three follow-up books to 2492 (set five hundred years in the future). Over the past few days, as I’ve approached the end of the epic story, the ideas for Winters in Boston have once again begun to flow freely, and I am excited. Excited to finally have the whole crazy-awesome series planned out, and to know what happens. Excited to be able to work on Winters in Boston again, in earnest. And, excited to be ahead of the deadlines I’ve set for myself.
Yay, me!
What I’m listening to: Yo La Tengo – Blue Line Swinger
I have a weird love for really long songs.
