Spooooky!

It’s Halloween! To celebrate, here are a bunch of punpkiny photos I took this month:

The top picture and this one were taken at the town’s annual haunted hayride. For some reason, they hold it at the beginning of October (not sure why). Tons of people showed up and for two nights our tiny town was overrun with those wanting to ride on haunted hay. This was a guy who had flame shooting out of his helmet and he rode up and down the road. In the end, people got a lot more scare than they had bargained for when one of the big tractors pulling a cart of haunted hay (and passengers) ran over one of the guys doing the scaring, sending him to the hospital via a helicopter. Scary!

This one and next bunch are from the Keene Pumpkin Festival in Keene, New Hampshire.

They were trying for the world record for the most jack-o’-lanterns; a title, I believe they’ve held before.

Here’s the guy from the Guinness Book of World Records being followed by a film crew from HGTV. There was another city in the mid-west vying for the same honor and they were recording both festivals for a special to be broadcasted tonight.

A big tower of pumpkins. The one on the top is a giant pumpkin.

And, finally, a picture I took this past weekend at Emily Dickinson’s grave. While there I discovered a previously unknown picture of Emily! Here it is:

What I’m listening to: Iron Maiden – Powerslave (live)
