Slow and Steady

Finished! A year and a half after starting, I finished writing my new novel yesterday afternoon. It is sitting pretty at 152,000 words and is 316 pages. What is it? I fully intend on telling you…sometime soon. I’m working on all of the behind the scenes stuff and will give it a proper launch sometime over the next few weeks.

The other night I went to Burlington, Vermont and saw Of Monsters And Men in concert. I first heard their first ep last fall, fell in love with it, and drooled in anticipation for their release of their debut album this past April. I haven’t been this infatuated with an album since The Suburbs
by Arcade Fire was released two years ago. From beginning to end, it’s phenomenal with not a single song that’s unlikable.
Just as I expected, Of Monsters And Men was amazing live. They played their entire album plus a new song, and the crowd was crazy for them. In-between songs they talked about how they had a couple of days off (they recently played at the Newport Folk Festival) and went to the Ben & Jerry’s factory.
They’re on tour right now, so see them if you can get tickets. Seriously.

What I’m listening to: Of Monsters And Men – Mountain Sound (live)
