Hello neglected website!
A quick post to let you know what’s going on in my world.
I am deeply steeped in the midst of editing my 2014 poetry collection, The Taborist. At 112 poems, it’s considerably smaller than my 2013 collection, The Entire Universe, which clocked in at 265 poems but it chock full of good stuff. Plus, it’s hard to compete with something called The Entire Universe, because that’s just a whole lot of subject matter compared to a collection about living near Mount Tabor in Portland. Once it’s edited, I have to create the back cover and then make sure it looks good in an ebook format. I’m guessing it’ll be ready and purchasable sometime in late February.
Once that’s done, I’m getting back into the 2492 spaceship chair and finishing that fucker once and for all. I say that with the utmost love and respect because I’ve been working on this book in one way or another for 27 years. This fall I had decided to follow my piqued interest and I started writing a new awesome novel. BUT, after some perspective and distance, I’ve come to the conclusion that, hey, I’ve got a 500-page novel that’s DONE. All it needs is a heavy round or two of editing and it’ll be ready for readers to love and cherish for the remainder of humanity.
I’m also working on my 2015 poetry collection, which is currently unnamed. Since my last two poetry books were named after poems written in January, maybe I’ll call this one, Guilt Is Never A Proper Topping For A Taco, which is a poem I wrote tonight. Just kidding on naming the book that. (Maybe.)
So yeah, that’s about it for the creative me at the moment. I promise you’ll be the first to know when The Taborist is for sale and when I’ll make the ebook version of The Entire Universe for free on Smashwords.
Thanks for reading and I hope you’re having a great year so far!
